This car is gorgeous ! Here is one which was driven in Le Mans in 1969 by Jean-Pierre Jabouille and Patrick Depailler, in the paddock during Le Mans Classic 2014.
It stands beside a Porsche 917K (short-tail) 1969 and a 907 1967.

As much as I appreciate Alfa's road cars, some of their race cars are rather homely.

I only recently found out this one's name after maybe seeing it once or twice before.

Just look at how much more character it has next to that Porsche.

And its always good to add that before the A220 (with its 3 liter V8), Alpine made the A210, M65, M64 and M63. They had tiny engine (4-cylinder from 1000cc to 1250cc), were light (and very sleek to have more than a decent speed in straight). The A210 weight around 700kilos and with only 135 horsepower, it could reached 250km/h in the Hunaudières ! And yes, ALL these Alpine took part in Les 24H du Mans (and many other endurance races) from 1963 to 1969.

Well, I wouldn't say that a Porsche 917 doesn't has much character : flat 12, plenty of horsepower, awesome liveries and so much victories !

Nothing remotely homely about that 33 long tail
